    i think that the end of Windows 10 will be problematic because it feels like Windows 10 became more irrelevant since Windows 11 released, Windows 10 is the most used os right now, when it ends support, many computers (That were made for Windows 10) will not be usable safely, hopefully microsoft will do something about it. All of this is my opinion,

    I have been putting off buying a new computer since 11 came out. I haven't heard any good reviews for it, and I don't want to waste any money on a system that is going to be abandoned by the OS vendor. If Microsoft doesn't shape up, I might have to go with Linux.

    Well, I have a Windows 11 VM on my Macbook withvsome folders shared between both OSes. Whenever I move/copy/rename/whatever a file in MacOS it doesn't show up while having that folder open in my Windows 11 machine, those changes won't show up until I clock on refresh or reopen the folder

    Windows 10 was supposed to be the final windows. With that promise in mind, the only acceptable solution by Microsoft imho would be continued support for at least 10 more years. Which is around the max lifetime of a current day computer performance wise.

    The only reason people say they didn't use it because they didn't grow up using a slow system which freezes up at times, in that scenario it's very useful to know if the computer is unresponsive/slow or normal.

    I went ahead and bought a new computer that can run Windows 11 as I figure they'll get a lot more expensive when Windows 10 loses support and many people rush to buy used computers that can run Windows 11. Hopefully Windows 12 doesn't have new hardware requirements when that comes out.

    I concur, Win10 was suppose to be the last and I resisted it until I had a forced upgrade against my will. I understand that there are constant tech advancements but I would just like to do my art work, write my letters and travel the net. Some people may want to, but I don't want my phone synced -up with my machine, I don't want to use Bing and I don't my data stored in the cloud!. When there is an up-grade they unnecessarily re-arrange unessential bells and whistles to distract from big proprietary changes going into the ass-end of your computer. I am getting to hate MicroSoft!

  • @garyr7027
    @garyr7027 День тому

    Considering Microsofts habit of creating every other OS as crappy, my guess is they'll extend support for 10 like they did with 7. It's a bit late in the game now since 10 came out that they'll make another OS after 11 to gain any significant sales on 12, if that's what they'll call it. 10 users won't jump on another OS so fast like they have before since many hate 11. Users don't like to fix what isn't broken with 10. 10 like 7 is a great OS and there's zero reason to use 11 for most unless they buy a pre-installed machine, and odds are half of those buyers probably regrets going from 10 to 11... Lol.

    Microsoft cold of course change windows 11 to allow it to work on other hardware and as windows 11 continues to move forward then stop that feature working on hardware that will not allow it to work Ie fall over. That way Microsoft can say they did all they can do but as enhancements arrive they cannot write it in such a way to allow it to work on older hard ware

    This is problematic considering there are so many laptops and desktop with Windows 10 that are less than 4 years old. Most people replace their laptops and desktops every 4 to 5 years. Microsoft needs to extend the end of support date into late 2025 or early 2026.

    Do we press F5? Speak in the first person singular. I might press the crosswalk button multiple time if it lacks activation feeback, either with lights or tactile. They do sometimes work. The pedestrian light might not change if there are no pedestrians giving cars turning left more time. Sometimes the buttons, like Stop in buses, are worn and you can't be sure they have registered and aren't broken. On WinXp the icons might not rearrange to the desired sort order, alphabetically or whatever until refresh. On WinNT6 the whole list updates (PCs are faster now). So the engine really doesn't save anything. They removed GDI acceleration from WinNT6, making huge listboxes in classic UI terribly slow. Gotta do the DWM and modern aero stuff. Pressure on the keyboard while gaming is a real thing. Binary buttons just don't feel natural.

    I went fully Linux about a month ago. Not a single regret! For anyone on the fence, just go for it. There is distributions out there that dont require you to touch a terminal if thats what you worry about. I went from a terminal noob to feeling comfortable enough to run without a GUI in just a few weeks. Just make the damn switch and live happily ever after 😂
